Westjet Faces System Wide Outages Causing Cancellations Increasing Delays

The Canadian airline says its contact center is unable to access guest bookings as a result of the outage.
WestJet says it is working to restore service to its system, although it has not provided a reason for the outage.
Calgary International Airport says in a tweet that guests flying through its airport may be delayed “due to a WestJet global IT outage.”
It says visitors should contact their airline for flight information.
WestJet has not said when service will be restored.
“WestJet is aware of a system-wide outage affecting operations and we continue to work to bring all systems online,” WestJet media relations consultant Madison Krueger said in an emailed statement.
“We apologize for the inconvenience caused to guests as unfortunately the impact of the disruption is still being felt in our operations and is now resulting in additional cancellations and increasing delays.”
